Microsoft tried, Apple tried, will Google TV deliver. If Google is as good with TV as it is with its other apps there’s nothing else to say. It will be awesome.

I love the fact that this is built around Google’s core competency, search. I have 200 television channels and I hate flipping through the on screen guide. With Google TV finding something interesting is as easy as your basic Google search.

The biggest thing this platform has going for it, it’s open. It doesn’t look like you will be tied down or limited on content providers. You will have a full browser, no doubt Chrome based, right on your TV. Plus Google will probably let its vibrant development community have at it developing some great apps for the platform.

If the price is right Google may be set to take over the world. If this takes off, Google will be able to track your internet and television activities. Do you think advertisers will pay a pretty penny to take advantage? Duh. Do I want Google to know so much about me. Well you may not, but I am not a paranoid privacy freak (yet). My hope is that they don’t try to learn more than necessary and they pay me back with great prices for letting them peak into my info and media habits.

I have been waiting for this one. A reason to watch TV again. I don’t know how I will get anything done.
